Online fashion leader Zalando opens new Insights Centre in Dublin, creating 200 jobs over the next three years.

Today marked the official opening of Zalando’s research and development centre at Dublin's "Silicon Docks", which will see 200 jobs created over the next three years.

The leading online fashion platform is locating its new Insights Centre in Ireland due to the growing demand for candidates excelling in the fields of big data analysis, research and development, data science and engineering.  Founded in 2008 by David Schneider and Robert Gentz, the retail giant has a presence in 15 European countries selling fashion clothing, sports gear and shoes to over 15 million customers.

Speaking at today's launch, Robert Gentz emphasised how the Dublin site would play an instrumental role in Zalando's European expansion strategy.

“Understanding our customers, and gaining deep insights into their purchasing patterns and their behaviour online means we can provide them with a personalised and compelling offering,”

“Investing to understand these insights has driven our growth since the earliest days of our company and has been the key to our success.”

The comapny is on the lookout for candidates from the science, maths and engineering disciplines, with roles being primarily R&D focused.

VP Engineering at Zalando, Eric Bowman said:

“We’re looking for the best engineers and data scientists in Dublin, Europe and the world, people who thrive on solving hard problems and delivering impact,”  We want independent thinkers, brilliant executioners, people who love a challenge, working on deep problems and working with the smartest people, while creating a great team culture.”
